The State of our Toilets
This is based on a 2006 report of selected NUS toilets. We will be releasing a review (long overdue) in time to come:
21 September 2006
Dear Honoured PSC members,
Here's a periodic report of the toilets in our vicinity, for your easy reference and to help you achieve a more wholesome s-hitting experience.
Note: pardon the bias, this is regarding MALE toilets – I have NO idea about the FEMALE side.
Dear President of the Women's Wing, Theresa Toh Shu Wen, maybe you'd like to send a team to do some recce work on your side ..
1. Science Toilet, next to LT27
Usually wet and smelly. However, high vacancy rate.
Beware autoflush though – sit upright.
Good supply of toilet paper. Soap sometimes lacking.
Overall: 2.5-3/5 (bearable)
2. Toilet near the anatomy hall
Wet, but not as smelly. Limited cubicles (2).
Autoflush, and sometimes lacking in PSC (pangsai chua). Soap sometimes lacking.
Overall: 2.5-3/5 (bearable)
3. Med Library
Generally dry, but limited cubicles (one squat, one seated)
Generally free from stench, and toilet paper in good supply. Soap sometimes lacking at the taps.
Overall: 3.5/5 (decent)
4. Dean's Office, level one, MD11.
There are two toilets – one a gents, the others are unisex, catered to handicapped.
Good supply of toilet paper, the seats are clean. So is the floor.
Generally dry and free from stench. Partially airconditioned.
No autoflush. Has it's own sink and soap!
Overall score: 4/5 (comfortable)
5. Toilet next to biochemistry department
Generally dry, free from stench, and toilet paper in good supply. Soap sometimes lacking at the taps.
Pretty good for a decent workout.
Overall score: 3.5/5 (pretty comfortable)
6. Histology Lab Toilet
This one's probably the best in the Med Faculty we've found so far.
Almost always dry, free from stench, good supply of PSC. Usually vacant. Generally very clean.
Overall score: 4.5/5 (pretty ideal)
7. University Hall
This one is DEFINITELY the best in NUS.
Dry. Free from stench. Clean. Abundant supply of PSC. Always vacancies (multi-levels of toilets). BONUS: it's AIRCONDITIONED.
Taps with soap.
I personally checked out the handicapped toilet – and it's very handicap friendly. There are handrails for people to get up. They're quite sturdy (I tested).
And there's an attached TAP, with SOAP. And an AUTOMATIC PAPER TOWEL DISPENSER. There is abundant supply of PSC (it contained 4 rolls of PSC, and in TWO difference types).
Overall score: 5/5
The Pangsai Club, after careful thought and deliberation, is delighted to confer the PSC TOILET OF CHOICE AWARD to the University Hall Toilets.
We hope the cleaners and the cleaning companies will keep up the good work, and we look forward to the continued excellence and high standards in our sanitation and s-hitting conditions.
If you have any comments or further contributions, or new toilets to share, please feel free to email the PSC. Please do not withhold good information. We look forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
The PSC.
